I rented a film on iTunes a few days ago. Now I can't find it and if I look for the film it gives me the option to rent it again at a cost. Also I'd like to watch it on Apple TV but I don't know how to stream input from my iPad to Apple TV. I've read the support page from Apple but it doesn't really any explanation how to do it. I turned on AirPlay but I can't find the movie or stream it.

Make sure to be signed into the same Apple ID and the movies will show up like normal on the Apple TV.

I am signed with the same Apple ID. The first problem is that I can't find the rented film in my iPad and iTunes offers me the option to rent it again. It says "you have already rented this film, do you want to rent it again?" And only 2 option after that: cancel or rent.
EVen if if I find it (don't know how) the option of rented movies on Apple TV shows no rented movies.
It would be found within the videos app on your iPad, within the rentals tab. You would have to view it there, it won't be transferable to Apple TV or any other device.
You won’t be able to see the rental on your Apple TV through your Apple ID. You’ll have to fully download the rental, and then AirPlay it to your Apple TV. About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
