BAFO BF-810 USB/Serial

BAFO BF-810 USB/Serial

I've been trying to use this USB to Serial device on Mac OSX 10.4.8 The released driver package installs fine, the device shows up under the System Profile USB section.

unfortunately, the /dev/*** devices are not created and applications do not find the serial port.

Anyone have a work-around?

The only USB to serial adapters I know work with Mac OS X are those by http://www.keyspan.com/ Perhaps their drivers might work with it? If not, I'd sell the adapter and get one of Keyspan's.

one of the BAFO readme files contained a reference to Prolific at

http://www.prolific.com.tw.

Their download page has a better driver package which installs the /dev/**.usbserial device under Mac OSX10.4.8.

What about Belkin's F5U109 USB PDA adapter?
Belkin does not have a driver for OSX 10.4.8
Know of any other drivers that would work?
