I Know that IOS devices can transmit Bluetooth signals to speakers, etc. But can IOS device RECEIVE Bluetooth signsls? I have connected a Bluetooth transmitter to my TV. I can't get the iPhone to pair with the BT transmitter. I want to receive the tv sound with my phone so that I can use earphones to have private volume control. I am hard of hearing and my wife is not, you see where I am going here.

The iPhone is only meant to be a transmitter.
Skip the iPhone and buy a pair of Bluetooth headphones.

Then why does it receive data via BT from my heart rate strap, cadence and distance sensors on my bike, health information from a Jawbone UP band?
Thanks, but I already have headphones. They are not as comfortable as my Klipsch earphones.
I already have the receiver/transmitter model of that. It would require two of those one to transmit and one to receive(or one transmitter and one receiver). This has been helpful information.
