So I boot with the option key and it works, of course following the instructions. I go to the preferences @ startup disk and the internal disc with the OS(10.5.8) is not there. ? I go to disk utility and find the HD there.
Am I destined to boot with the option key? What could be the problem, fix ?

OK, I solved the problem.
What was the fix???
The fix was more an oversight. I had changed HD's from an Intel based Mac to the PowerMac not realizing it was not going to work. Anyway, I put the drive back in the Intel and reformatted for PowerMac then reinstalled the drive to the PowerMac and installed Leopard. It seems to be doing fine now.
