Q: can i use target display mode to display PC video output?

Can I use target display mode to display PC video output? If so can I use a HDMI to mini displayport adaptor to connect the HDMI on the PC to mini DP on the iMac?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

The simple answer is no, Target Display is Mac to Mac Target Display Mode: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Apple Support

The more complicated answer is that SOME PC video cards are reported to support Mac compliant video and will work, but you're goiong to have to Google and find numbers that might.
