Q: i have tried to restore my iphone4 but always stop half way during firmware verification, what shall i do?

My iphone4 was locked after my children tried several passcodes. I have downloaded the software update on my pc and tried several times to restore it's software but during the process it always stop at firmware verification with error 3194. How can I rectify this?

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1, it is still on this pc

If you are trying to install iOS 7.1 it won't work.

The iOS version for the iPhone 4 is 7.1.2
The iOS version for the iPhone 4s is 8.3
