Q: Third-party watch bands
There are a few third-party watch bands that I'd like to buy, but I'm nervous since they're so new and most aren't from well known vendors. Has anyone purchased third-party apple watch bands? If so, what did you think?

I bought two from Amazon. First one went back because the adapters (the metal part that gets inserted into the top and bottom of the Watch) did not lock properly.
Second one arrived today and so far - aside from the leather band being a bit stiff - seems fine.
Most complaints seem to deal more with the adapters than the various bands themselves. The one I got today had 22 - 4 & 5 Star reviews. The few bad ones complained predominantly about the adapters (though one person did complain that the leather band was so stiff it prevented the Watch from detecting his wrist). Don't know what he was expecting for a 25-30 band/adapter combination. (Some eBay sellers are selling the adapters alone for almost $20.)
Unfortunately eBay reviews deal more with the seller than the actual product. Amazon seems better.
There is also a very lengthy thread over at the MacRumors forum about peoples experiences with various 3rd party adapters and bands.
