Q: Second trial?

One of my friends let me use their trial of Final Cut Pro X when mine expired, but when I try to use it, it tells me that my trial is expired. I can't yet afford the full program, so this is my only way to use the program right now. I do have iMovie, but there's too many frustrating bits to justify using it for anything more elaborate than a slideshow with music. I've already made two videos using Final Cut, and I'd like to continue doing so. Help?

IM afraid so. The trial is tied to the computer not to the application.

Are you asking somone to give you a copy ??? And become a pirate. You have to buy a legal version as most of us here have done. If not, turn to iMovie.

What have you done, which allows you to own such a machine? Do same again, ecept FCPX is much cheaper than ypur Mac.

    …I can't yet afford the full program…

and I can not afford a Ferrari, a 1st class trip around the world, nor a MacPro.

get a job, earn money,  buy things.

Standard procedure in most countries on this planet.

And asking on an apple.com hosted board how to circumvent the limits of a trial software .... pheww

There is one foolproof way of using the FCP X trial for another 30 days but it involves buying another Mac.

Not asking for a copy, just asking about the program. From what I saw on the questions page, it wasn't clear on that point.

The laptop was a gift. I'm trying to get a job, but these things don't happen instantly. I just want to make a couple YouTube videos, and iMovie is garbage for anything more involved than a family photo slideshow. Guess I'm just going to have to waste MORE time... Uggghhhh

Statements such as, "iMovie is garbage for anything more involved than a family photo slideshow", are not merely sweeping but completely untrue and can only be made by people who either haven't examined iMovie's capabilities or who cannot make films.

iMovie is an excellent NLE and contains all the essential tools to make high quality videos.

Most items appearing on YouTube could have been  made just as easily with iMovie and for the majority of  editors, FCP X and similar apps are overkill.

In fact, anyone who can't make high quality films with iMove, just can't make films.
