What have you done, which allows you to own such a machine? Do same again, ecept FCPX is much cheaper than ypur Mac.
…I can't yet afford the full program…
and I can not afford a Ferrari, a 1st class trip around the world, nor a MacPro.

May 31, 2015 4:05 PM in response to Karsten Schlüterby Alex Goebel,The laptop was a gift. I'm trying to get a job, but these things don't happen instantly. I just want to make a couple YouTube videos, and iMovie is garbage for anything more involved than a family photo slideshow. Guess I'm just going to have to waste MORE time... Uggghhhh

Jun 1, 2015 12:05 AM in response to Alex Goebelby Ian R. Brown,Statements such as, "iMovie is garbage for anything more involved than a family photo slideshow", are not merely sweeping but completely untrue and can only be made by people who either haven't examined iMovie's capabilities or who cannot make films.
iMovie is an excellent NLE and contains all the essential tools to make high quality videos.
Most items appearing on YouTube could have been made just as easily with iMovie and for the majority of editors, FCP X and similar apps are overkill.
In fact, anyone who can't make high quality films with iMove, just can't make films.
