icons not showing up on my watch on iPhone after watch update

Updated apple watch yesterday and now when I access my watch on iPhone, the icons do not show up or show up intermittently.

You may need to restore your Apple Watch then repair it.

Thanks but I only need to do a restart and that solved the problem.
