Q: restore mac book to factory settings

I want to restore my Mac Book to factory setting so that I can gift it to someone off to college. I tried all the directions but it is not back to factory settings.

Click here and follow the instructions. When you reach step 5, insert its original disk, restart with the C or Option key held down, use the Disk Utility to erase the internal drive, and install a fresh OS.

A 2009 Mac will not have shipped with Yosemite and cannot be sold or given away with Yosemite installed on it.
