Q: Using AirPlay grey box in middle of screen

It sounds like you’re using AirPlay with your iPad 2 and there’s an issue with an alert message that’s covering portions of the video.
Take a look at the article linked below and try to disable Airplay Mirroring so that the app streams video to the Apple TV rather than displaying your device’s screen on the Apple TV.

If you turn on Mirroring, you'll see your entire iOS screen on the TV that's connected to your Apple TV. Your TV will use the orientation and aspect ratio of your device. If you want the image from your device to fill your TV screen, you might need to to adjust your TV's aspect ratio or zoom settings.
