I have an iPad Air 2 and I was wondering if I need a screen protector for it. It rarely leaves my house and I always keep an Apple smart case on it. I am just worried that something could scratch it like fingernails. What should I do?

It all depends on the care you take of your iPad. You say it rarely leaves your house. If you drop the iPad, it will likely break. You ask about sand -- if you take a handful of sand and attempt to scratch the screen with it, you will almost certainly succeed.
