May 31, 2015 3:18 PM in response to poikkeus1by NayNay89898989,Thank you for the information but the issue isn't with the SD/CF cards. The issue lies with the digital card reader not being read by the iMac itself. It won't identify it at all out of any of the ports.

My new iMac Retina 5k doesn't see my Sony Card Reader, even though my old iMac sees it fine. They're both running OSX 10.10.5
I have tried all ports etc etc so bought a new Card Reader (Sitecom 63-in-1 "ideal for Apple iMac/MacBook" printed on box) but no joy.
The new iMac simply doesn't see it - even though a green light illuminates on new Card Reader, which I take to be a "power on" light. No light illuminates on old card reader.
It's not seen in Disk Utility, Finder, Lightroom, Image capture etc
