Running OS X Yosemite,ver10.10.3, imac21.5 Mid 2010, Processor 3.06 GHz Intel core i3, Memory 4 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3
I use the internet from a cable company called RCN. I can access email using RCN but Apples version does not work .

This happened after I installed IMessage to my iMac, now my email does not work
I did go to the page that has the title ( If you can't send or receive Email on your Mac ) . The only thing that related to my problems was
Mail Connection Doctor. That had one red light indicating a email connection did not work.
What happened when you took all the applicable steps on the linked page?
installed IMessage to IMac now EMail does not work
