outlook clients can't access mail using ssl

I have a Mac Mini running the Mail service for the office. We have quite a few pc's running outlook and if Outlook (2010 or 2013) tries to access the mail service using SSL, an error message comes up with "Send test e-mail message: Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance."

Without SSL it is fine. I've tried using SSL on ports 993 and 143 with no luck. Does anyone else have similar problems with Outlook and the OS X Server Mail service.
