iCloud garbles folder and album structure

I have an extensive photo libray of some 26K photos and 1K videos.

Recently I migrated from iPhoto to Photos for iCloud. In iPhoto I had created year folders and in these year folders I placed individual albums.

In Photos for MacOS and Photos for iOs this structure is correctly handled; all my photos are displayed nicely structured in albums in year folders.

ViaiCloud.com however, this structure is not maintained. The year folders are empty and all albums (there are a lot) are at root level and also not sorted on date. I've tried various browsers, IE, Safari, Chrome, FireFox; this does not seem to be browser specific behaviour.

This is what the structure looks like on the iOS Photos app:

Anyone knows how to solve this?
