replies to home email addressed to work email

I do not have my work email set up on my home computer but, on occasion, when I send an email from home from my personal email address, replies to those emails are do not arrive in my home email address, but to my work address, which is only found in my recipients list.

Why would Mail simply choose an address out of my recipents list and use that as the sending address? Is there malware involved?

This makes no sense.

I'll try it. I'll also rebuild my list.

The fact that an outgoing email would grab an address from my recipients list and insert this as the sender makes me wonder if this isn't an artifact from some kind of malware. I'll check the raw headers and source in the relevant outgoing email to see what I find.
