Imported videos are green in iMovie 10.0.8

I have just installed the latest version of iMovie. I am importing several video files into the program, but they all turn green. There is no audio either. How can this be fixed?

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
