Does your iPod work with headphones?
Which model Nano?
How are you connecting?
IPOD Nano, works perfect with headphones, or no headphones. I am connecting via usb. I have been using it like this for weeks, now starting last week it stopped playing, it shows the song/artist/album etc. on the display, like it always has, it just will not play the music.I can even look at my plat lists on the truck display. It does everything it use to, just not play the music.
There are seven Generations of the iPod Nano but you must have a 4th or 5th if it has a speaker.
If headphones are working it is not the Nano or the headphone jack on the Nano. Try a different cable.
I thought it was the cable at first, so I bought a new one with no results.
What type of cable is this?
Monster USB, I was using the regular cable that came with my IPOD which was working just fine. I dont understand why it just stopped working. I have also sent off this same question to Uconnect to see if they have any answers for me.
So you are saying it was working when you uses the Apple cable and stopped when you switched to the Monster?
No, it stopped working with the apple cable so I bought the new one. No change
So this is a 30 pin cable on one end and USB on the other?
If yes, find someone, or a store, that still has a 30 pin iPod speaker dock insert it and see if music plays. If it does you can rule out the iPod as the problem. If it doesn't try cleaning the dock connector on the bottom of the Nano and then see if it works.
When I unplug the 30 pin cable from the IPOD it plays.
Yes, you already said that. Tells us nothing. Try the suggestion I made.
I just plugged it into my friends truck, same results, no music will play, but display screen shows everything. His truck is a toyota tundra
With his cable or yours?
Get a magnifying glass and a flashlight and inspect the 30 pin connector on the bottom. Clean any debris, dust or anything you find with a toothpick and compressed air. Also check for damaged pins.
Works now
