MP3 Audio issues after FCPX Conversion

After "sharing" a video from FCPX to an audio only MP3 format the .mp3 audio file plays back all "stuttered" or broken up. It doesn't happen if I choose the ACC format. I'm guessing it has to with the bit rate of the mp3? How can I change that in FCPX? Or is there something else I'm missing?
