They disappear - are not even in SPAM.

You need to talk to Hostgator support because from your description, they are blocking the e-mails.
Eric, hostgator sends the email to my me.com address. When I switched to a yahoo address yahoo received the messages, my webmaster cc'd herself on a google Mail and she received the email. The me.com email does not. Not even in spam. They are being blocked and my other emails from reverbnation are as well!
Bottom left is a contact link for iCloud support. Maybe they can give you help/a reason why they are sending the messages to you. You could also as Hostgator to forward the e-mails to your Yahoo address.
