How do I convert old Pages documents ( '08 '09 ) to the Yosemite pages?

I have documents that can be read in Pages 3.03. I thought they were created in pages '09 but I don't see that on my computer. In any case they can be opened with 3.03. In any case they cannot be opened by the new Pages.

I am running Yosemite 10.10.3 with Pages 5.5.3. Very surprised it can't read the old file. I've never seen that before. Do You know a fix?

Since October 2013, Pages v5 (any release) has been unable to read Pages '08 documents. These must first be exported to Word from Pages '08 v3.0.3, before Pages v5.5.3 can open them. Once they are opened and saved in Pages v5.5.3, they will no longer be backwards compatible your older version of Pages, unless you export to Word again.
