Mystery charging problem

Last week my Macbook Air crashed.

It had a slickering screen every time the mouse moved and when it awoke from sleep mode the screen was so dim that it was rendered useless, meaning that i had to restart every time it went into sleep mode. My battery also would not charge. I think i did a PRAM restart ( P, R, Opt Shift?) and /or a battery reset ( Shift, opt, cntrl?) Something like that anyway.

Since doing that the operating system reinstalled and the screen problems have been resolved. However, I am still experiencing problems with my battery.

While it is plugged in the Mac runs fine, and the battery icon shows that it is charging, but it does not go up. The battery status says the battery is in good condtition. However, as soon as the charger comes out the mac book loses power!

Any help is appreciated!
