If I turn off iMessage, will all my previous messages get deleted?

When a certain person imessages me, sometimes his message is delivered, but I don't receive it. And then the next day he shows me that he sent it and I never got it. I looked up ways to refresh iMessage and the most common one was to turn off and turn back on Imessage in settings. I've decided to do that, but I before I do I wanted to know if when I turn IMessage off, will all my previous messages (with everybody else I sent/ recieved messages to/from) in my inbox get deleted?

Turning off iMessage will NOT delete the iMessages currently on the phone.
