Adobe Reader 11.0.10 or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC?

I keep getting updates to Adobe Reader after having updated last week. But I also have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on my laptop. I'm trying to figure out if I can dump one of these and just go with one, and I notice DC apparently has an update (released today?). I'm leery of updating to 11.0.11 Adobe Reader because I keep trying to update and something keeps going wrong with said updates, plus you hear of viruses. What I do notice is there seems to be only talk of Windows in regards to this version. Internet's not much help. Is it really necessary for me to have both of these? I don't know if this is a window version or what; I'm just trying to figure out which one I can really use and uninstall the other. Help!
