Xserve only showing 2 out of 3 drive bays?

Hi Guys,

I recently received a 2009 8 core 2.66GHz Xserve from a company who just wanted to get rid of it. When I boot it and open disk utility and/or raid utility, it only sees two to of the three hard drives that are in the machine. I know for a fact that all three drives are working and tested this by swapping each drive out with another woking one.

Does anyone know why only two out of the three drives are showing up?

P.S.: The RAID card battery is dead. Would this be the reason why it is only showing 2 out of the 3?
