iPad doesn't power up

I've been using my iPad with no problems. In fact, I used it while falling asleep. It was plugged into power.overnight. The next day it wouldn't start. I've plugged the iPad into power and I get a flicker of red "no power" but there is no lightning symbol indicating powering, and then it disappears. The same cable powers up my iPhone just fine, so I don't suspect it's a faulty cable issue.

Any advice?

iPad Mini, iOS 8.3, Mini Retina display, 64GB

It may be completely dead. Try plugging it in to the charger and leave it for about a hour and then check. Also, after that time period, while still plugged in, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The iPad should reboot.
