not enough disk permissions for adobe flash update

I've been to Apple Genius bar for this problem not too long ago. Problem resolved--genius guy says to run AdMedic....that was affecting my permissions or something. Come around again for another update and same problem. Ran AdMedic with no issues appearing. What do I do? This is a recent problem of mine and Adobe updates.

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. It is highly recommended that you carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:

When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.

If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced

click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser. More advice here:

Hello again,

No luck on getting close to downloading Flash update on Safari. I followed your instructions and can't get past the error box from Flash I originally needed help with.

I will have to go back to Genius Bar and ask what is up and why this is a repeating problem.

Interestingly, I have zero problems with this issue using Firefox. All videos play without problem using that browser.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Again,

So...need to let you know that whatever I did per your instruction...something worked. I now have Flash working on Safari. This is interesting because I was not able to upload any new Flash updates. I did the uninstall, rebooted computer, did disk repair and was still having an issue downloading the correct Flash for my computer. Well-magic! Something worked out.

Thanks again.
