cannot add my macbook pro as trusted device

Hello,

I cannot seem to add my macbook pro as a trusted device in the itunes security tab trusted devices list. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? I have find my mac activated and ready for use. Location services are on as well.

Oddly enough I CAN see my macbook pro in the currently active devices list on the find my iphone app. on my ipad2, and my iphone 6, just not on the mac itself. Totally bizarre
