If I understand your question, you have deleted photos from your Mac and want to know if they can be recovered, is that right?
My initial question is, how did you delete the photos on your Mac?
What device did you initially sync them too?Is it possible that you just changed your sync options and the files still remain on your Mac? Do you see the photos in your iPhoto or Aperture library? You can use Spotlight to search for a file.
