I have a new hard drive due to a crash. I can't find air drop, although it does appear in Finder preferences. How do I turn it on?

Air Drop appears in the Finder menu but nothing happens when I click on it.

It is. In fact, I've been using Air Drop for some time. I had a crash and a new hard drive has been installed. I'm trying to get Air Drop to work again.
