It works for me ,thanks a lot! But I think we also can transfer SMS with iTunes according to Apple support.

1.) Connect your device to your computer, firstly.

2.) Then, click the device button, then click Info and choose the items you want to sync.

3.) Click Apply.

I wish that can indeed help you transfer SMS from iPhone to computer successfully!

You can back up your iPhone to computer with iTunes. The backup contains your text messages. But this data is an unreadable, you cannot read and open it. But you can still transfer text messages from iPhone to computer. Emailing them to yourself and view this email on computer.
