Q: How do I back up my iPhone on iCloud if I lack sufficient storage?

MY iPhone is using ios 8.3.   I have 41.1 MB available on ICloud storage.  I have been notified that I cannot back up my phone on iCloud, even though I have deleted most of my photos, and have only 386 on the camera roll. What should I do to increase iCloud storage without purchasing more storage?
