screen share with a remote computer

I need to access a friends computer via screen share as he is having issues, problems etc .I am running 10.10.3 and he is running 10.6.8. What is the best way of accomplishing this. Both computers are iMac

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

use teamviewer

or some of the tons of vnc server clients setups or maybe you can even use ms's free remote desktop for mac
