Seriously? If this is supposed to be a Pro app, why can't I send my audio dude an OMF? It's very mean to make me have to export XML, convert XML to XML 7, import into Premiere, figure out what got dropped or screwed up in the 3 translations, export and hope the mix guy doesn't have a problem.
Wouldn't it be easier to just add it back?
Does anyone have a reasonable way to cleanly, in 1 step, make an OMF from FCPX

OMF? Probably no one's going to do that. X2Pro will convert XML to AAF for ProTools.
I have X2. It works ok, but a lot of guys still are looking for the OMF.
grrr. Back to my workaround.
I hear that too. OMF really is old tech though, it's like wanting an EDL or a reference version on U-Matic tape. I did have someone ask me for a stereo quicktime, left channel vo, right channel rough mix. I gave him two wavs instead and after a bit of grumbling he was fine. Some people need to move into this century.

I was looking for omf as well, and was surprised by the reply omf is old. Im a professional sound guy and use omf and aaf all the time, and editor seem to understand this is mandatory. 2 wavs would never be ok for a proper audio mix. Wav files dont have handles for instance.
X2Pro does AAF but not OMF.

I disagree re OMF being old school, it is still used everywhere and is a solid option to export audio with chosen handles etc. What is an audio engineer going to do with a wav that has all the audio joined? Two wavs (or 12 as it would be in my case) = real slow school.
