Imovie grainy on when uploaded.

I created a video on iMovie and I exported it in HD to be able to upload it to youtube. When i uploaded it, it became very grainy and didnt look HD at all anymore. Please help. Thanks!

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
