Which version of iPhoto do you have, and how are you trying to delete photos? What happens, when you try?
To delete a photo select it in its event, then press the delete key and confirm, that you want to delete it.
Then empty the iPhoto Trash.

Photos are Version 1.0
On Macbook Air 10.10.3
It used to work fine, click delete and remove the photo, but now I click, it selected but nothing happen.
o.k., then you are no longer using iPhoto but the new Photos for Mac app. Are you viewing a smart album, when clicking "delete" does not work?
To delete a photo while viewing a moment, press the Delete key.
To delete a photo while viewing an album or Smart Album, press command-delete.
Then reveal the Recently deleted album and empty this album.
