I just purchased an iPhone 6. Some calls do not come through. My wife says there is 4 rings and then goes to voice mail, the voice does not show up on missed calls.

Check to see if Do Not Disturb is turned on. That would prevent you from being notified of a call.
DO Not Disturb is not on. I am only not receiving SOME calls. If I am correct you do receive notice of a call even when do not disturb is on. There is no indication of a call.
You would not receive a notification, but the call would be listed in the recent call list, and if there was a voicemail. What troubleshooting have you tried? Have you contacted your cellular carrier and asked them any questions about your account or your coverage?
I understand you just purchased this phone but before you try too many things. Shut the phone completely off. Wait 30 seconds. Turn it back on then try your test again. Apple products don't require rebooting like other manufactures but doesn't hurt to just get a fresh boot up.
If Do not disturb is on (little present moon top right of screen) you will only get a notification if your device is unlocked.
