Apple mail not shown in iCloud mail boxes

When I try to access my Apple Mail using iCloud.com on my, or another computer, the iCloud mail appears but none of my Apple Mail. There's a faint error message saying " message not selected", or similar. How do I get both types of email to appear at the same time?
