Macbook Pro white light flashes with two ram stick.

So I recently bought a Macbook Pro late 2011, and had some ram laying around from an other defective Macbook Pro early 2011. I installed the two ram sticks, however the system would not boot, it would flash the white standby light twice, and repeat. I then removed the top slot ram stick, and the system boots fine.

I also tried inserting the bottom ram into the top slot, while using another ram block in the bottom slot, the system would still not boot. Is this a defective ram slot?

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10), null

It could be a faulty RAM bay or a bad RAM module.

Do you know for certain that all RAM modules have the following specifications: 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Are you certain that all of the RAM modules are functional?

Have you tested each RAM bay with a 'good' RAM module?

Ciao.
