First time posting.
Have a file name "E" that showed up on 5/11 in my Macintosh HD Folder.
When I open it it says:
<MACSNIFFER>
<SETTING VerboseLevel="NONE" />
</MACSNIFFER>
Should I have any concern this is malware or spying?
I have no clue why it would be there.
Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
It doesn't hurt anything to delete the file.
Mine says I don't own it and I CAN't delete it!!!

If you do not "own" the files/folder go to that folder/files and right click and select Get Info and change permissions
