Sandisk Extreme II SSD with Macbook Pro Retina 13" Late 2013

I have a Macbook pro retina 13" late 2013. I recently purchased a Sandisk Extreme II SSD and realised it wouldn't fit the slot when i disassembled the macbook (i feel stupid). Is there a way to make this work that maybe I haven't figured out as the SSD was worth a lot of bucks.
