Lion is quite slow compared with Snow Leopard. Furthermore, Snow Leopard provides access to the use of older PPC-only applications through Rosetta. Rosetta no longer functions after Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard is faster and requires less memory to run. It would be my OS X choice for that model.
