I can't export my iMovie 09 project
I am trying to export my iMovie 09 project to my desktop, but it won't work. I keep getting a message saying that it can't publish the project. (-50)
I tried exporting it as a QT project, and got the same error message.
I called Apple Care and the man said to delete each clip in the project one by one, and each time try to export with that one clip missing. The idea would be to try and find a corrupted clip that would be causing the problem. But after deleting each of the 30 or so clips and then trying to export, I got the same error message each time.
Research told me that one possibility is that each clip needs to be at least 2 seconds long, and they all were. And I learned that it's a good idea to turn Time Machine off, which I did.
What's odd is that just before this, I was able to export about 15 other similar projects with no problem. All the projects are small--between one and 5 minutes long.
I've run Repair Disk Permissions with no luck.
I went into my HD Movie projects and moved a copy of the project to my desktop and then to a thumb drive, to transfer it to another computer's iMovie in the hopes that I could manipulate it there. But it didn't recognize it as a project--the tag was .rcproject, which seems to indicate that it's not a fully fledged clip.
Anyone have some good ideas for me? It's almost 2 am my time and I need this done by 8 am--in 6 hours. Thank you.
