iPhone handsfree link connection with Honda Pilot

I just bought a Honda Pilot EXL 2012, and the bluetooth connection constantly disconnects and reconnects with the "Honda Handsfree Link" system. I have an iPhone 6 with the most current software. Honda's service department said it's because Apple hasn't created an update for it. I don't know who to believe, I know a lot of people that have Hondas and don't complain about their iPhone disconnecting. I am very good with technology and I reset every setting possible, I'm not sure what to do. Thanks
