Songs show up on my on itunes when my phone is plugged in, but they aren't on my phone, and I can't delete them.

I have 32 songs on my iphone 5s, but when I plug it into my computer and open itunes, it says/shows I have 582 songs on my iphone, and I can't delete them. I don't have my music backed up to icloud, at least it says I don't. At no time do these songs ever show up on my phone, it just shows them on itunes.
