My macbook air is powered but won't turn on

I came home from work yesterday and I turned my macbook air on just like what I always do. After pressing the power key, I could see light on the screen but nothing was showing on the screen. I did not see that apple icon. My keyboard did not have the backlights on. No reaction after pressing the keys. I checked the outlet and I'm sure it is not the power issues. What should I do?
