Imessage

Hello everyone , I just got my first smart phone , an iPhone 5S , so im kinda new to this stu

I just created my Apple ID , and i downloaded some apps.....
But my problem is with iMessage and Facetime.
iMessage still isn't activated yet. and i tried to activate yesterday night and i waited till the morning and it said failed to activate.
However. i can still receive messages...but i cannot send any.

Facetime is the same deal except i can receive and give out calls.

Does anyone know a step by step solution ?
