Evenly distribute objects of different sizes

Hello,

I am having an issue with the newer version of Keynote in which it is distributing objects in strange ways.

Example:

Previously, if you had 3 rectangles of different widths the distribute horizontal function would creating exact even space between each object. Same white space between rectangle 1 and 2 and same space between 2 and 3. Now, if you distribute horizontally the space between the rectangles varies. If I do so with rectangles of the same size, it functions as it should. It is almost like keynote is now referencing the center lines of the rectangles instead of the edges?

Any ideas?

The Distribute Objects does not place objects in a selection with even spacing.

Distribute objects is based on the placement of the left and right hand objects position; then distributes the object evenly

However, you can accurately position object with an even space using a two stage technique:

1 - as you have done; select the objects then apply Arrange > Distribute Objects > Horizontally

2 - Keynote preferences > Rulers > Show Guides for relative Spacing

2 - drag the objects very gradually between the two outermost objects until the even spacing indicators are visible (marked green):
